Comprehensive Support for Bleeding Disorders: Meet Our Community Resources Team

Jessica Crews Simpson, Community Resources Supervisor, explains how to access support, insurance help, and financial assistance for patients with bleeding disorders.

Hemophilia Support, Start to Finish

Managing a bleeding disorder involves more than taking medication and managing symptoms. It takes a network of support to ensure access, stability, and connection.

Behind every treatment plan is a network of coordination. Our team works closely with patients and internal departments at PromptCare to ensure your medication orders are handled quickly and insurance challenges don’t disrupt your care. When barriers arise, we move fast to find solutions, including connecting patients to assistance programs for additional support.

You can rely on your dedicated Community Resources advocate to:

  • Manage monthly and urgent medication and supply orders
  • Collaborate with intake and billing for prompt, efficient service
  • Help resolve insurance challenges and delays for continuous care
  • Connect you to assistance programs for high-cost medications

Community Engagement

Making connections with others who understand your healthcare journey can be powerful. We partner with local and national bleeding disorder organizations to bring educational resources, supportive programs, and face-to-face connection to the communities we serve.

You’ll often see our team participating in events, learning from our patients’ stories, and sharing helpful tools along the way. Look for us at community fundraising walks, local chapter events, national conferences, learning symposiums, and patient-appreciation get togethers.

Lifestyle and Emergency Assistance

A bleeding disorder doesn’t just affect medical care—it can also impact a family’s financial stability. For patients struggling with food insecurity, housing costs, or emergency bills, our team steps in to connect you to real solutions. In 2024, we helped secure more than $2.4 million in assistance funds for patients in need of resources. This means we work closely with you to:

  • Help locate food banks and utility/rent assistance
  • Find holiday, emergency, and daily living resources
  • Connect to community centers and nonprofit programs

Bleeding Disorder Resource Organizations

There are many organizations offering services for people with bleeding disorders. From advocacy and education to transportation, scholarships, and translation services, these groups play a vital role in supporting patients. Our Community Resources team helps you learn what’s available and how to apply for:

  • Education and advocacy resources
  • Transportation and language assistance
  • Scholarships and financial support

Help with Medication Access

We work one-on-one with patients and families to guide you through manufacturer programs offering copay relief, free medication options, and more. These organizations can be a lifeline for patients and caregivers who are uninsured or facing unexpected insurance coverage issues.

Nonprofits Supporting Bleeding Disorders

Several nonprofit organizations offer support specifically for people with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders. These programs often help cover premium costs, medical travel, and other out-of-pocket expenses. We’ll help you understand what’s available based on your individual needs, then work through the application process.

Rare Know-How

From clinical support to local connections and financial assistance, our Community Resources team is committed to standing with patients at every turn. If you or someone you love requires support, we’re just a phone call away.

We know what it takes. We got you.
